当日上午8时，中国能建广东火电项目部员工进行安全技术交底后有条不紊地开展各项工作，并于当天下午5时50分高质量地完成2号机组汽机扣盖，比计划提前10天，获得业主的充分肯定。
台山核电项目是我国首个175万千瓦核电项目，一期工程机组是基于第三代核电EPR（欧洲压水堆）技术的CEPR(中国的EPR)技术机组，也是世界单机组容量最大的核电机组，核电汽轮机安装精度要求极高。台山核电2号机组项目于2010年4月开工建设，从2013年11月台山核电2号机组3个低压缸全部就位结束，到低压缸（LP3汽缸）扣盖一次成功，历经10个月。
